Pastors
A pastor of First Church will officiate at all weddings at the church and has responsibility for overseeing all aspects of the wedding, including the Order of Service. When it is the wish of the bride and groom to have another pastor (e.g., relative of family, or family pastor) assist in the service, this should be made known to our pastor, who will issue a letter of invitation to the guest pastor.
First Church pastors will require no fewer than three sessions to meet with you as a couple, discuss your wedding vows and personalize your ceremony.
Wedding Coordinator
Part of our wedding policy is to provide each couple with a wedding coordinator. Her job is to make sure everything goes smoothly at the church during your rehearsal and on your wedding day. If your wedding party consists of 14 or more, you will need a second wedding coordinator on the day of the wedding.
Building Use
The chuch will be available to you for a one-hour rehearsal, and for three hours for the wedding itself. With seating for up to 700 guests, adequate off-street parking, and a convenient downtown location, it is the perfect setting for even very large weddings. There are a number of hotels and restaurants nearby for your reception, or you may reserve our Parish Hall, which can accommodate up to 300 people.
Wedding Costs
The fees charged for weddings cover the services of the pastor, organist, one wedding coordinator, custodial services, rehearsal, sanctuary, bride's room and other facilities. If a second wedding coordinator is required, there is an additional cost. For a complete schedule of fees, contact Denny Mahoney (228-1741, ext. 17,
dmahoney@first-church.org). For a schedule of fees for renting our Parish Hall, see the "Facility Rental'' page on this Web site. Wedding dates are considered tentative until you have reviewed the wedding policies, signed a contract and made your non-refundable deposit. A booklet outlining our wedding policies

Same Gender Wedding Ceremonies
We are an Open and Affirming congregation,
which welcomes and affirms all people. Weddings at First Church are planned based on the readiness of the couple, not on sexual orientation or other determinates. All are welcome here.
