At First Church, Christian Education is an integral part of our ministry, offering opportunities for people of all ages to grow in faith, spirit and love. The entire staff recognizes the importance of Christian Education as the foundation of the church body and participates in planning and teaching classes.
Come join us! Wherever you are on your faith journey, you will be welcomed as a valued member of our faith community.
The Children’s Ministry includes the nursery, the Sunday morning Church School, the Children’s Library Time during the 11 a.m. worship service, and bible study for older elementary children. Children’s classes have two teachers per classroom, plus a superintendent who rotates to all classes offering assistance and support.
The Youth Ministry includes the Sunday morning Church School classes for middle school and high school youth, youth groups for both ages, mission trip opportunities, fellowship with other UCC youth and service to our congregation and to the younger children of our church.
Adult Education at First Church is challenging, spirited and highly rewarding as we examine difficult issues and speak openly from our hearts and experience. Sunday morning classes include invitational speakers and round-table discussions on a wide array of topics. We also offer Wednesday evening bible study, lunch-time discusssions and concerts, a Lenten and Advent series and periodic lectures and retreats.
