Pat was hired as a part-time office assistant and began in May 2019. Her tasks prior to Covid included answering phones and greeting visitors, ordering necessary supplies for staff, updating and coordinating materials for new members classes, scheduling home visits for Revs. Ahrens, and producing the weekly “Depart to Serve” bulletin insert. Pat also worked with the Deacons and other members to provide weekly transportation to worship for some members and the First Church Care Team’s ongoing outreach efforts.

During Covid-19, Pat has worked from home on various projects that included formatting and putting the Sunday sermons online. In addition, she has worked on various projects for the ministers, one being mapping routes for deliveries of books for the youth of the church. Pat has developed several forms in PDF fillable format for ease of submission. She has also entered new members’ info into the church’s Realm database and Constant Contact e-mail programs.

Pat has been a member of Sacred Earth for many years and chairs the committee. She also serves on the Schumacher Award Committee. This committee awards three young ladies for Christian devotion for the care of a family member with a financial award and medallion. Pat has also served as a Deacon and as Secretary on Church Council.

Pat worked for 30 years for The Ohio State University School of Environment and Natural Resources as their communication liaison, working on various published school documents and creating visual informational slides. She helped create the school’s first website and continued work on the website content until her retirement.
